Abstract

There is provided a method for altering features of a mobile device. The method includes detecting a charm having a charm identification, obtaining the charm identification from the charm, identifying the charm using the charm identification, altering a theme of the mobile device to a new theme based on the charm, in response to the identifying of the charm.

Claims

1: A method for use by a mobile device, the mobile device having a hardware processor and a wireless component having a wireless transceiver, the method comprising: detecting, using the wireless transceiver, a charm having a memory storing a charm identification; receiving, using the wireless transceiver, a wireless signal including the charm identification from the charm; identifying, using the hardware processor, the charm using the charm identification; and altering, using the hardware processor, a theme ofthe mobile device to a new theme, in response to the identifying of the charm, wherein the new theme corresponds to the charm identification. 11: A mobile device comprising: a wireless component having a wireless transceiver; and a hardware processor configured to: detect, using the wireless transceiver, a charm having a memory storing a charm identification; receive, using the wireless transceiver, a wireless signal including the charm identification from the charm; identify the charm using the charm identification; and alter a theme of the mobile device to a new theme, in response to identifying the charm, wherein the new theme corresponds to the charm identification.
