The keeper's note
Interactive smart-board-game hardware with connected devices.
Abstract
Techniques and systems for immersive interactions are provided. A first smart device available for interaction is identified by an interactivity system. A first physical game piece is detected by the interactivity system, and a first identifier of the first physical game piece is received, from the first physical game piece, via one or more wireless signals. A first set of predefined effects that can be performed using the first smart device is identified based on the first identifier. The first smart device is instructed to perform at least a first predefined effect of the first set of predefined effects.
Background
BACKGROUND
The present disclosure relates to interactive devices, and more specifically, to integrated interaction systems to provide immersive and additional interactivity.
Many popular games today, such as board games, card games, party games, and video games, are played around a table or other central area. In current systems, the game is constrained to the surface of the table, and game pieces can be placed and moved on it. This restricted environment reduces the interactivity and immersion for the players. Frequently, game systems (such as board games and card games) involve physical game pieces. When aspects of the game are played out, the users must determine how to proceed according to the rules, and must further manually move around the physical game pieces to carry out the game play. More immersive and interactive systems are desired. SUMMARY
According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided. The method includes identifying, by an interactivity system, a first smart device available for interaction. The method further includes detecting, by the interactivity system, a first physical game piece, and receiving, from the first physical game piece via one or more wireless signals, a first identifier of the first physical game piece. Additionally, the method includes identifying, based on the first identifier, a first set of predefined effects that can be performed using the first smart device, and instructing the first sm
