Abstract

This disclosure presents systems and methods to cause an input device to provide movement-based output. Exemplary implementations may: establish a wireless connection between the one or more physical processors and an input device, the input device being configured to provide control signals for controlling a graphical user interface; determine motion control signals for the input device, the motion control signals dictating physical movement of the input device in a real-world environment; effectuate communication of the motion control signals to the input device thereby causing the input device to perform the physical movement in the real-world environment; and/or perform other operations.

Background

FIELD

This disclosure relates to systems and methods to cause an input device to provide movement-based output. BACKGROUND

Existing input devices, such as computer mice, stylus, and/or game controllers, are passive devices that are meant to be controlled by a user. SUMMARY

One aspect of the disclosure relates to a system configured to cause an input device to provide movement-based output. Interactive game experiences traditionally do not use input devices as active game assets that can participate in the interactive game experiences.

Claims

1. A system configured to cause an input device to provide movement-based output, the system comprising: one or more physical processors configured by machine-readable instructions to: establish a connection between the one or more physical processors and the input device, the input device being configured to provide control signals for controlling a graphical user interface; determine a two-dimensional path and/or a three-dimensional path in a real-world environment; generate motion control signals for the input device, the motion control signals dictating physical movement of the input device in the real-world environment, such that the physical movement of the input device includes movement along the two-dimensional path and/or the three-dimensional path; and effectuate communication of the motion control signals to the input device thereby causing the input device to perform the physical movement in the real-world environment. || 11. A method to cause an input device to provide movement-based output, the method comprising: one or more physical processors configured by machine-readable instructions to: establishing a connection between the one or more physical processors and the input device, the input device being configured to provide control signals for controlling a graphical user interface; determining a two-dimensional path and/or a three-dimensional path in a real-world environment; generating motion control signals for the input device, the motion control signals dictating physical movement of the input device in the real-world environment, such that the physical movement of the input device includes movement along the two-dimensional path and/or the three-dimensional path; and effectuating communication of the motion control signals to the input device thereby causing the input device to perform the physical movement in the real-world environment.
