Abstract
A system and method for organizing localization content for video game development is disclosed. The method includes generating executable instructions for a video gamebeing developed, wherein the video game is being developed for deployment in a plurality of natural languages, wherein text strings and/or multimedia data to be rendered during game play are referenced by the executable instructions. The method further includes identifiably storing the text strings and/or multimedia data in one or more dictionary files suchthat the text strings and/or multimedia data are identifiably referenced by references inthe executable instructions and are identifiably referenced by a corresponding natural language.

Claims
1. A method of generating a glyphs compliance report, the method comprising: receiving localized text for a video game, the localized text including one or more glyphs to be displayed during gameplay in the video game, individual glyphs comprising individual parts of individual characters used in a language region, individual combinations of glyphs forming individual characters; comparing the one or more glyphs in the localizedtext to a predetermined list of approved glyphs appropriate for an intended age range of users of the videogame, the comparison being used to determine whether or not the localized text includes any unapproved glyphs that are not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs, the predetermined list of approved glyphs including glyphs that the users of the intended age range are expected to know to facilitate understanding of individual charactersincluding the approved glyphs, the unapproved glyphs including glyphs that the users of the intended age range are not expected to know since understanding of individual characters including the unapproved glyphs is not expected of the users of the intended age range; and generating, with a computer, a glyphs compliance report indicating whether or not the localized text includes at least one unapproved glyph that is not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs.
8. A system for generating a glyphs compliance report, the system comprising: one or more physical processors configured by machine-readable instructions to: obtain, from electronic storage, localized text for a video game, the localized text including one or more glyphs to be displayed during gameplay in the video game, individual glyphs comprising individual parts of individual characters used in a language region, individual combinations of glyphs forming individual characters; compare the one or more glyphs in the localized text to a predetermined list of approved glyphs appropriate for an intended age range of the users of the video game, the comparison being used to determine whetheror not the localized text includes any unapproved glyphs that are not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs, the predetermined list of approved glyphs including glyphs thatthe users of the intended age range are expected to know to facilitate understanding of individual characters including the approved glyphs, the unapproved glyphs including glyphsthat the users of the intended age range are not expected to know since understanding of individual characters including the unapproved glyphs is not expected of the users of the intended age range; and generate a glyphs compliance report indicating whether or not the localized text includes at least one unapproved glyph that is not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs.
15. A video game development system, the system comprising: one or more physical processors configured by machine-readable instructions to: obtain, from electronic storage, localized text for a video game, the localized text including one or more glyphs to be displayed during gameplay in the video game, individual glyphs comprising individual parts of individual characters used in a language region, individual combinations of glyphs forming individual characters; compare the one or more glyphs in the localized text to a predetermined list of approved glyphs appropriate for an intended age range of users of the video game, the comparison being used to determine whether or not the localized text includes any unapproved glyphs that are not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs, the predetermined list of approved glyphs including glyphs that the users of the intended age range are expected to know to facilitate understanding of individual characters including the approved glyphs, the unapproved glyphs including glyphs that the users of theintended age range are not expected to know since understanding of individual characters including the unapproved glyphs is not expected of the users of the intended age range; and generate a glyphs compliance report indicating whether or not the localized text includes at least one unapproved glyph that is not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform a method of generating a glyphs compliance report, the method comprising: receiving localized text for a video game, the localized text including one or more glyphs to be displayed during gameplay in the video game, individual glyphs comprising individual parts of individual characters used in a language region, individual combinations of glyphs forming individual characters; comparing the one or more glyphs in the localized text to a predetermined list of approved glyphs appropriate for an intended age range of users of the video game, the comparison being used to determine whether or not the localized text includes any unapproved glyphs that are not on the predetermined list of approved glyphs, the predetermined list of approved glyphs including glyphs that the users of the intended age range are expected to know to facilitate understanding of individual characters including the approved glyphs, the unapproved glyphs including glyphs that the users of the intended age range are not expected to know since understanding of individual characters including the unapproved glyphs is not expected of the users of the intended age range; and generating a glyphs compliance report indicating whether or not the localized text includes at least one unapproved glyph that is not on thepredetermined list of approved glyphs.
